Leigh’d Yourself Counseling & Coaching is a virtual practice! You will have your session over a secure video chat platform that is super easy to use. All you need is a computer or cell phone, an internet connection, a webcam or the camera on your phone, and a private space. The accessibility is so convenient! You can have a session from your office, bedroom, or even your car (if that’s what it takes to get a little privacy)! No traffic, No parking, No drama!
Sessions are typically held between the hours of 9am – 6pm on Monday through Thursdays. However, yet another perk of being virtual is that the hours are much more flexible and accommodating. If you need an appointment at a time outside of this window, please do not allow this to keep you from reaching out! Let’s get connected so we can discuss time availability.
New Client Consult – Free (20 minutes)
(There is no charge for your consult however, a valid credit card is required to book. You can cancel or reschedule up until 24 hours before your appointment. There is a $50 fee for no-shows or late cancellations).
Intake Assessment – $175 (50 minutes)
Individual Therapy Session – $150 (50 minutes)
Couples Therapy Session – $200 (50 minutes)
Individual Coaching Session – $150 (50 minutes)
The most notable difference between counseling and coaching is the approach and methodology. Counseling focuses on healing past trauma and other emotional struggles through specific methodology and evidence based practices. Coaching on the other hand focuses on the here and now and forging new paths into the future.
Both counseling and coaching are extremely valuable processes. Although the processes vary and they have different purposes they are equivalent. One is not better than the other. They are simply different. Meeting different people at different places in their journey to support them in different ways.
Leigh’d counselor and coaches are not contracted with any insurance panels at this time.
For all insurance panels, Leigh’d Yourself counselors would be considered an out of network provider. If you would like to use this option, we suggest you contact your insurance provider to discuss how your plan compensates you for services. Please be sure to specify you are looking for details on out of network mental health coverage and reimbursement. You will be provided any required documentation for you to submit claims for reimbursement upon request (usually this is called a superbill).
Otherwise, we accept self-pay via all major credit cards and you may also be able to pay for services with your pre-tax Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards.
Billing insurance puts a lot of limits on the counseling process. Coaching is not covered by any insurance. When insurance is billed for counseling services, a mental health diagnosis is required. One reason that individuals may choose private pay instead of finding a counselor through their insurance is that they simply prefer to not have a diagnosis attached to their medical record. Billing insurance can also put limitations on services such as the number of counseling sessions approved based on diagnosis or based on the individual’s benefits. The counseling and coaching processes are much more effective and rewarding when they are provided based on the needs of the client as assessed by the professional in a relationship with them rather than by the insurance company.

I have a strict cancellation policy and I kindly ask that all requests to reschedule or cancel an appointment be made at least 24 hours in advance. If you cancel outside of this window or no-show for your appointment, you will be responsible for the cancellation fee which is equal to the full rate of the session.

You will be asked to complete all intake paperwork prior to your initial appointment. The good news is that it can all be done 24/7 online through your client portal, making it quick and convenient!
You first appointment or intake assessment is a 50-minute appointment where you and your counselor/coach will delve deep into your presenting concerns and background. Together you will set goals for treatment and agree to how frequently you will meet.

Life is hard for most people most days, but when you find yourself trying to juggle multiple roles and you are also pursuing complex goals, it can feel incredibly isolating and things can start to unravel. It is true that even those of us who seem to have it all together on the outside, struggle on the inside! Being “successful” does not shield you from emotional pain and sometimes it complicates it.
If you are experiencing feelings of sadness or depression, feeling overwhelmed with stress or anxiety, struggling with past trauma, feeling challenged by romantic relationships, having a hard time processing grief, if you are unsure of your purpose in life, or simply feeling like something is holding you back from reaching your full potential, you are in the right place and I would love to chat with you.
Our sessions will be client centered and focused on your needs each session. Meeting you where you are and supporting you on your journey is my primary goal. There will be times when I feel it appropriate to make a request for you to complete or try something between sessions. However, if there is ever something to be done between sessions, we will collaborate to ensure that you are comfortable with it and that it will not be overwhelming as that would be counterintuitive to the process.
Both counseling and coaching will be tailored to fit your needs in alignment with your goals. I highly recommend at least once a week to begin for accountability purposes to support you in making progress towards healing. The frequency of sessions will be discussed and agreed on by you and your counselor or coach and can be re-evaluated at any time.
Since we are meeting online it’s fun to tell people that I AM TALL… 6 whole feet to be exact! That is typically the first thing people notice about me in person. I have played volleyball my whole life and still play in adult leagues. I also recently began taking an adult beginner’s hip hop dance class as a spontaneous way to do something for myself to prove that I can do hard things! It took A LOT of courage to put myself in such an uncomfortable setting, but it is now my most favorite activity and brings so much JOY to my life!
