Your Healing Awaits

Trauma Focused Therapy

The only way to describe it is that you feel unsafe and unsure all the time.

It feels like you are lost in a dense fog and you can’t see the next step, much less the way out.

Despite trying countless different techniques, you feel paralyzed by fear and like there is no hope for healing.

You may have had thoughts like…

Courage (19)
  • “Why do I feel so afraid and so alone?”
  • “Why does my past still haunt me?”
  • “Will I ever heal from this?”

If you are experiencing this, it might seem like the trauma that you have walked through is dictating your life.

Like the weight of it is holding you down, leaving you feeling like you don’t know how to move forward. You long for healing but are unsure how to move forward. You want to feel hopeful, confident, and safe.

It’s time to release the shackles of trauma and feel free and safe to look towards the future with hope.

Freedom is achievable, and therapy can make that happen.
Why do traumatic experiences leave us feeling unsafe and hopeless?

When we are exposed to a traumatic or unsafe experience, the fight or flight system in our brain is activated and we immediately act in a manner that will keep us safe in that moment.

It is like putting on a life preserver to keep you safe when you’re on a boat that’s about to sink.

The life preserver will keep you safe and help get you to shore.

But once you hit shore, you’re afraid to take it off. You continue to cling to the life preserver because the fear of sinking doesn’t go away and you live life with that extra weight constantly.

This is what happens after trauma. We wear our coping skills in every situation because we are unable to differentiate what is safe and what is unsafe.

Finding the root cause of the trauma

Through experiential and somatic therapy, you can begin to discover where the trauma is living as energy in your body.

You will begin to have more awareness about which coping mechanisms you are continuing to wear as a shield.

You will learn how to differentiate between what is safe and what is unsafe.
